I support safe, healthy, and sustainable investments in our community.
Yolo County deserves well-maintained infrastructure, job and career opportunities for residents, economic prosperity, and a thriving community for all. We need innovative leadership that balances a broad variety of perspectives and supports upward economic mobility for our residents. On the Board of Supervisors, I will work collaboratively to build a community where residents can live meaningful lives for generations to come.

PUBLIC SAFETY
Yolo County residents want safer streets and communities. On the Board of Supervisors, I will fight to ensure that our police and firefighters have the resources they need to keep our communities safe. In addition, I will work with the Board to ensure we have the funding we need to fully implement Proposition 36, the voter-approved initiative that will help get the mentally ill and homeless drug addicts the treatment they need.

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY
I support housing initiatives that meet the needs of our community. All members of our community deserve access to quality affordable housing. A variety of housing options with strong infill efforts is essential to meet the needs of our working class, educators, young professionals and seniors.

EXPAND ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH AND DRUG ADDICTION TREATMENT
Yolo County has a growing homeless population, largely driven by mental illness and drug addiction. Letting these people live and die on our streets is not humane. We must invest in Prop 36 programs and treatment options in order to get these people off the streets and back into society.

SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE WATER PROGRAMS
Yolo County and our cities rely on several sources of water to keep our irrigation and drinking water flowing. As Yolo County and surrounding communities continue to grow, we need to work aggressively to maintain our water rights and work with the distributions we receive. On the Board of Supervisors, I will stand up for our communities’ and agricultural interests, and work to maintain our access to fresh and clean water.

PROTECTING FARMLAND AND OUR COMMUNITIES’ WAY OF LIFE
Yolo County has long been the beating heart of the Sacramento Valley’s agricultural community. Our roots in agriculture run deep and must be protected against the threat of overdevelopment. New developments and projects should support diversified job opportunities, careers for long-term residents, and balance our needs and identity as an agricultural community.
