About Mayra
Mayra is a dedicated and engaged public servant and community leader. Professionally, she has worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years. Her focus has been strategic planning, business development, and program development for community and regional hospitals. Before her career in healthcare, Mayra worked in the Wine and Spirits Industry doing Direct to Consumer Sales and Marketing.
Mayra’s many years of experience in healthcare have helped build healthy communities by developing and retaining healthcare services and programs for communities in need. Mayra’s broad-based community leadership roles including commerce, educational and service organizations have helped facilitate job growth, economic development, and develop collaborative partnerships to support individuals and families in need.
Mayra’s involvement in the community
Mayra is an engaged and active member of the community. Her passion for community service stems from her commitment to creating a Woodland where individuals and families can live, work, do business, and be part of the community for generations to come. Her community leadership roles include:

Education
She attended Napa Valley College and transferred to UC Davis. She earned a BA degree in Economics from UC Davis and an MBA from Sonoma State University. Mayra is a Project Management Professional and a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
Mayra is a Mexican immigrant; she grew up in Napa where she attended local public schools. Mayra was the first in her family to graduate high school and complete a graduate education. This brought a huge sense of pride to her parents given they were only able to attend elementary school.
Early Life
Mayra Vega’s family immigrated to California when she was five years old, her parents David and Aurora established the family in Napa where they worked and raised Mayra and her younger brother.
Growing up, Mayra’s parents both worked full time to provide for the family and have a stable future. Mayra thanks her parents for raising her to have a strong work ethic and relentless perseverance.
